Michaelmas Term 1999
President's Letter
Dear Fellow Oxonian,
It is an honor and a pleasure to be writing to you as the new President
of the Oxford Alumni Association of New York (OAANY). After three years of
dedicated hard work for the Association, Michael Boyd passed the baton to
me in June. I look forward to working with our various committees and meeting
as many members as possible in the coming months.
As you will see in this newsletter, our Events Committee has been very busy
through the heat of the New York summer putting together a full program for
the Michaelmas Term. We are particularly excited that the Chancellor of the
University has been able to make the time to talk to us during his September
visit to New York. I know many of you will wish to give the Chancellor a warm
welcome to our city and to our Association.
Over the summer, our Communications Committee has also been very active.
The OAANY Web-site is up and running at www.oxalumny.org. It includes information
about events. In addition, we intend to regularly update members with e-mail
announcements about events and other Oxford-related matters, so do make sure
we have your correct e-mail address so you will not miss anything!
